Our Big Star!

So a earlier this year, Greg entered a contest.
He sent in a CD he made, with him singing 2 songs.
The first was a required Phantom Of The Opera Song,
the second could be a Broadway song of his choice.
The winner would perform the particular Phantom Of The Opera song
as a duet with a female winner at
an upcoming Franc D'Ambroisio concert.
(If you don't know who Mr. D'Ambrosio is, just click on his name!
One of the many things he is know for is being the longest
running Phantom on Broadway!)
Well, my talented husband was the male winner!!
(a fellow student he knows was the female winner)
Greg was really excited and very honored!
The night before the concert and before they picked the winners,
all the contestants were able to attend a workshop and
get some personal training from Franc,
which Greg really enjoyed and learned a lot from.
The concert that Franc put on was wonderful!
He was a great entertainer and an awesome singer!
But of course we were really looking forward to Greg's time on stage.
He did so great! It was a wonderful performance!
My camera didn't take the best pictures, but between Stacey and I
we managed to get a few good ones!
Here are a couple pictures from the night before
that were on the local newspaper website.

Greg was able to sit with us for the first half of the concert :)

Taking a bow at the end

Mike (the amazing piano man) Franc,
( I should know this girl's name, but I'm totally blanking right now!) and Greg

These were a couple of really cool guys.

And last but not least,
the performance!

One thing I don't miss about Idaho....

My sister, Magen, text me this picture today.

So I sent her back this....

So if you haven't noticed by the lack of posting the last month or so,
nothing too exciting has been going on around the Rose home.
(at least to take pictures or blog about)
But we haven't been hanging out at home every night either.
So here are a few happenings:
*Saw the Vienna Boys Choir perform - really cool.
* Greg went on a weekend tour up around Seattle for Free Form Choir.
* The next weekend, he spent his time in a recording studio
with his FF Choir, recording their annual CD.
*Finally got more of our Scentsy stuff, so now our condo smells more like sugar cookies,
and less like a sweet old lady :)
*Attended Greg's Free Form Choir concert at CBC
*I was called as Sunbeam teacher (with Greg as my awesome assistant)
and started this last Sunday. Those little ones rock!
So, anyway, that's pretty much all we have been up to lately.
Kinda boring.
But we have been having some decent weather lately,
and it makes me more and more excited for summer!

Happy Birthday Greg!!
This kid got pretty spoiled today.
Even though he had to spend all day
touring with his choir class,
he had some pretty cool people drop by
with some fun gifts!
Our front door was covered with hearts and
a happy birthday sign along with a ginormous
bag of candy hanging on the door!
(Thanks Ostler family! He loved it!)
Along with dinner at the Outback,
many texts, phone calls, and other bags of goodies,
I'd say this guy had a pretty sweet birthday!

You're the best sweetie!!
Love you :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

(Love this guy!)

And Happy Anniversary to my parents!
They actually just left this morning and I already miss them.
(And I didn't even take any pictures! Sheesh.)
They came to visit us for a couple of days
and Greg and I were totally spoiled!
We ate lots of yummy food,
watched some movies,
ate more yummy food and
too much ice cream and candy.
It was so great to have them come and stay!

Portland Weekend

This past weekend, Greg and I were invited to go to
Portland with Ma and Papa Rose.
The highlight of the weekend
(and the reason the we went)
was seeing a production of Xanadu.
None of us really went into it with any expectations,
because most of us had never even heard of it,
but it turned out to be a really great show!
Lots of good songs and full of many laughs.
And thanks to the season ticket holders that we went with,
we had terrific seats!

We had to have our pictures taken with the cutouts!
And of course, Greg wanted to switch things up....

But I made him switch back

haha!

We hurried and got a picture in front of the stage
before the ushers caught us!

Saturday morning, we headed off to the nearby outlet mall
to do a little shopping. Can't beat outlet prices AND no sales tax!

On our way home, we stopped to experience Multnomah Falls.

It was actually my first time experiencing this particular waterfall,
so Greg and I hiked the .2 miles to the bridge.

It was such a beautiful waterfall!

After a little sight seeing, we stopped at Pietro's Pizza
in Hood River, OR for an early dinner and then headed home!
We had a great weekend - thanks Ma and Pa Rose for putting up with us :)

White Pass

This past weekend, we headed to White Pass to spend the day on the mountain.
It was suppose to be my first time skiing, but it didn't really end up that way.
Instead of being full of excuses why I didn't really ski,
let's just say that it wasn't really my thing :)
I did get a few pictures of Greg snowboarding.
(Don't ask my why I didn't get more pics, it's not like I was busy skiing or anything!)

We had one big sleepover (w/ 4 other awesome families) at Camp Zarahelma (a big lodge)
The Ostler's were so kind to invite us to join in the fun!
We ended the day with some game playing and movie watching.
We met some really fun families -
it was a great weekend and fun little get away!

Goodbye 2009

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hope everyone had a great night last night - we sure did!
Stacey and Dan were so nice to let us crash their house party :)
And for some reason, Greg was in the mood to take pictures
(which is pretty rare - I usually only get cooperation for about one or two)
so since he was so willing to pose for the camera,
I took full advantage of it, so prepare for picture overload.....

awe tender

There must have been a little something extra in Greg's apple cider

or he just enjoyed acting like there was :)

Megs had to resort to partying with the old married people
because all the church dances were canceled due to some pretty
treacherous road conditions.
But we were super happy to have her!

Pretty girl!

Greg really started getting crazy with his second glass of cider.

Ok, really he was just pulling up his shirt so he could show off the
wounds he received after going shot gun shooting earlier that day.

Ouch!

Sibling love

Is it sad that Greg makes a better pucker face then me?

Stacey isn't going to be too happy with me
(sorry Stace:)
but these two sisters are too cute not to show off!

And of course, I have to end on a good note, with a nice picture.
Greg is always butting into things!! haha

We wish you all the best throughout this coming year!!

Christmas 2009

This year, our first Christmas together was spent in Washington
with the Rose side of the family. Although I missed being with my family in Idaho,
it was so much fun to join in all the fun and traditions with Greg's family.
I still can't believe how early we woke up when the youngest in the
house being in high school. It was about 7:45am when Kayleb came
bouncing in saying "It's Christmas!!"
And so the festivities began...

I was so lucky to get in on one of the
best things about the Rose Christmas -
the stocking
As you can see, they take stockings pretty seriously.
Santa packed ours with all sorts of goodies, games, and fun!

Greg trying to keep Zoe out of all our stocking stuff

Kristy just opened her iTouch that Kayleb gave her

First Christmas together!

Once the presents were opened, we moved into the kitchen for a great breakfast.
It's mostly prepared by the guys, but the girls helped out to get things moving.
We had all worked up quite the appetite.
After eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, cinnamon rolls, and orange julius'
we were all pretty stuffed and ready for a little nap!

We were joined early afternoon by the rest of the family!
More presents, food and games!

Dan, Stacey, and Hudson

Zoe being protective of the gifts

Kayleb was VERY excited about his new PS3

Dan and Gary loving their new ear warmers!

Megs looking adorable in her super cute head wrap

And Hudson working on his shooting skills!

After all the gifts were exchanged, we all moved into the kitchen again
to get going on the Christmas dinner.
After stuffing ourselves on some delicious food,
we ended the evening playing some games.

We had such a wonderful Christmas
and hope you all did as well!
